Wreckers Inc. dba ParaSports offer "Awareness Programs", in which wheelchair athletes educate the community about people with disabilities as well as entertain them with a short "Wheelchair Basketball" demonstration. These programs are age appropriate and include: K-12 "It's okay to be different" and for adults: "Issues facing people with Disabilities".

One of the most impressive programs is the "Push for Education" Program.  This program trains talented youngsters and channels them into the wheelchair sports programs at national universities.  At present 6 ParaSports members have received sports scholarships and are attending four-year universities.

ParaSports offers Wheelchair clinics in which people are taught how to use basketball wheelchairs.  ParaSports invites anyone interested in wheelchair sports to come out and observe.

Many are amazed by the transformation seen when a wheelchair-user becomes a wheelchair athlete.  Rediscovering self-esteem and confidence gives many a new lease on life.  The camaraderie and encouragement found amongst  the team  members offers the strength and support enabling a person with a disability to excel.
